Adding Index Fields and Values

A client may request to have a new index field or option in a dropdown box added to ImageSilo.

Getting Started

Be sure that you have administration rights on the client's Imagesilo entity in question

Navigate to Administration Panel

  1. Navigate to https://login.imagesilo.com
  2. Use your given credentials and enter the entity ID # in question for the client.
  3. Click the "Administration" button on the left navigation menu

 Creating an Index Field

An index field is an attribute or fill-able index that can help describe an item, think of it as a database column. An index field could be Doc ID, document name, scan date, price, etc.

  1. On ImageSilo an index field can be:
    1. Boolean - Yes/No, On/Off, True/False situations
    2. Text - Can be anything including numbers and symbols
    3. Currency - The dollar and cents format for numbers $##.##
    4. Date - can be a date format such as mm/dd/yyyy, mm/dd/yy, etc
    5. Number - A number that can be formatted
    6. Double Number - A decimal number

How to Create an Index Field

  1. On the administration panel, click projects, then select the project in question have an index field created
  2. Click "add" on the top left and specify the details for the field
  3. Specify the field name that the user will see and the type based on the data to be stored in the field.
  4. You can setup a format and make it required additionally
  5. To make a dropdown menu, click "Values" tab
    1. Select "Users must select Index Field Values from List"
    2. Click "add" and specify an option, then repeat until you're satisfied with the choices

  6. Click "save"

    If "Get Index Field Value List from Data Group" is checked, any data groups uploaded with additional values that isn't in Imagesilo, will be added automatically.

How to Add a Value to an Index Field

  1. On the administration panel, click projects, then select the project in question that has the index field to be modified
  2. Double click the index field to edit, then select "values"
  3. Click "add" and set the value name to be added
