Easyfile Server Installation

These instructions will install the necessary prerequisites and the Easyfile Server which will create an Easyfile environment on premise or in the cloud.

After the installation and configuration is completed, the Easyfile database and Easyfile websites will be setup and ready to use.

 

Prerequisites

 There are two prerequisites needed for the Easyfile Server to be installed.

The Internet Information Service (IIS) must be installed before installing Easyfile Server. Only use IIS as the web server.

In addition, SQL Server and SQL Management Studio must be installed before the Easyfile Server installer can be run. 

The free Express version of SQL Server can be used with Easyfile, as well as any full SQL version.  If you do not already have an SQL version in use, download SQL 2019 or higher.

 If you will be using Full Text Searching, ensure your SQL version can install Full Text Searching.  For the Express versions prior to SQL 2019, , you may need the Express with Advanced Features version.

 After installing SQL Server, SQL Studio Management Studio should be installed.  Both programs can be downloaded from https://microsoft.com/downloads .

Installation

 

The Easyfile Server installer will install the necessary components to setup and configure the Easyfile websites and save the data to the Easyfile database.

Download the installer at https://dl.scanpointusa.com/easyfileserver/easyfileserver.exe

Run the installer as an administrator.  The first screen is the Prerequisites Setup Wizard.  Click Next

 

The Scanpoint Service will be listed.  Click on Next to install Scanpoint Service. This service controls various optional services used inside the Easyfile environment.

 

If you are using your own SQL instance, after installation, a SQL script will be available to setup the default Easyfile database. The script is template.sql and is available in the selected install directory.   Advanced knowledge of SQL Server is required to run this script.

Clicking Next will start the SQL Server installation if the program is checked.  The installer will complete a default installation will all the necessary components to run Easyfile.

Once SQL Server is finished installing, SQL Management Studio and Scanpoint Service will install.

After the prerequisites have been installed, the Easyfile Server install will begin.

 

Clicking Next brings up the folder location where the Easyfile Server files will be installed. Change the location if you prefer a different location.

 

If you want to change the default folder location, click the Browse button to navigate to the desired location.  Click Next when ready, then click Install.

The folders are created, and the files are added.  The websites are created and configured in IIS and the Easyfile database will be installed.

Upon completion, the ending screen is shown.

Click Finish to end the installation.  Server restart is highly recommended at this point.

Default user login:  User – admin & Password – Admin123!

Default Easyfile link.  http://<servername>/easyfile

Default Easyfile Administration link.  http://<servername>/easyadmin

 

Activate License

After you have created at least one cabinet and assigned rights to a user, the first login into Easyfile will start the Activate License procedure.  Click Manage License

Click Activate

Enter the license number and password provided by Caso.  If you do not have the license information, please contact Caso Support.  Optionally, you can enter an installation name.  Click Submit.

Once the activation is complete, click on Go To Homepage.
