ImageSilo - Documents Not Loading - Load Screen Disappearing

In this article I will review a common problem that we have seen with ImageSilo document viewing.

If you are trying to open and view a document and notice the following behavior:

  1. Click on a document to open it

  2. See document loading as below:

  3. Window closes and no document is opened.

If this is happening it is most likely due to a Document Viewing setting mismatch. You are most likely telling ImageSilo to use the ImageSilo Viewer but you do not have the viewer installed on your machine.

The website will try to push the document to the viewer, but since there is nothing installed nothing will happen.

There are two ways to resolve this issue!

  1. Click on your name in the top-right and go to Downloads

    1. Download and install the ImageSilo Client

    2.  

    3. After this is done test another document and it should be able to open successfully.

  2. If you do not wish to use the ImageSilo Viewer proceed with the following steps

    1. Click on your name in the top-right

    2. Click on User Options

    3. Under the Document Viewing section change the method to “Browser-Based Viewer”

    4. Test with another document to verify

Now you should have either: installed the ImageSilo Viewer, or changed your viewer to use the browser.

You should no longer be experiencing the previous behavior and be able to load images and documents successfully.
