Assigning Special Permissions for Specific Users

This article is for clients who wish to have their employees have access to specific documents within ImageSilo.

Getting started...

You will need...

  • Access to entity you are editing for client
  • Admin access to the entity you wish to apply special permissions to
  • Username of user you are to apply special permissions
  • What projects/documents/special fields that the user will need access to


 Steps to apply special permissions...

  1.  Login to ImageSilo Entity to be modified
  2. Navigate to the specific project you are trying to apply permisisons to
  3. Enter the search criteria you wish to apply permissions to in the search section to verify that the criteria is valid and documents are returned
    1. Example Field 1 = Test
    2. Example Field 2 = Permissions
    3. Example Field 3 = Apply
  4. If your criteria is valid you should generate some results when executing the search. If so proceed to the next step. If no results returned, modify search criteria.
  5. Next click on your name at the top right and go to "Administration"
    1. You must have Administrator access on the account you are using to proceed
  6. Create the user requested or confirm the user to be modified
  7. Expand "Projects" with the folder icon 
  8. Expand the project you are looking to add security permissions to
  9. Click "Document Security Levels" 
  10. Click "add" and provide a name for the level, be specific so it can be tracked and removed as needed. 
  11. Under "Security Level" check the user to add to this permission scheme
  12. Under "Selection Criteria" input the same search criteria you used for testing in Step 3
    1. Example Field 1 = Test
    2. Example Field 2 = Permissions
    3. Example Field 3 = Apply
  13. Check all three boxes on the bottom and click "save" 
  14. Select new level and click "Apply" 
  15. Go to Security access and click "add" 
  16. Click the desired user to add permissions to and then go to "Rights" and check all.
  17. Click "Save" after you are done
  18. Verify that the user has the correct access and permissions
