PVE - Create Monitored Import Path
Check Import Settings
Verify your import settings are set to the desired configuration before proceeding. You may do so by following these steps:
Open PVE Admin Console
Expand Entities
Right-click your entity and select properties
Click the Import tab
Big thing to look at in the settings is the Default Import Copy Settings.
If Copy is selected, PVE will import the data groups at the Data group path specified in your Entity configuration.
Along with Copy during import, if Delete source data group is also selected, the original data groups will be deleted. Make sure this is the intended result before proceeding.
Check Automation Services
PVE simply needs the Import service to begin importing data groups. The suggested configuration is to set the Monitored Import Path (Submit) service, then the Import Service. To do this, follow these steps:
Open PVE Admin console
Navigate to System Settings → Configure Automation Service Scheduling
It is recommended to have more than 1 Automation Service. Note that the more you have, the more stress your CPU will experience. Be sure to monitor computer resources and adjust as needed.
If additional Automation Services are needed, use the following article to learn how to add:
Under the first automation service, add the Monitored Import Path (submit)
This will create an Import queue item for every new data group that is found when the Monitored Import Path service runs
Under a separate automation service, add the Import queue
This will be the service that starts to actually import the data groups that are displayed in the Import Queue
Feel free to add more Import Queue services under any other Automation Services to allow multiple data groups to import at 1 time
Create a new Monitored Import Path
Open Papervision Admin Console
Navigate to Global Admin → Import → Monitored Import Path
Right-click and select New Monitored Import Path
Enter the path of where the data groups are that need to be imported
The data groups will then begin to import
Troubleshooting
If data groups fail to import, be sure to check the Import Logs. You can double-click on any of the failed items to receive additional information as to why the data groups may have failed to import.
