Kofax - Scan Volume Decrement Conditions in Kofax Capture

Applies to

Kofax Capture 11.x

Summary

What influences the remaining scan volume of a scan license?

Answer/Solution

Typically, each image or electronic document, whether scanned or imported, reduces the available count by one unit. This reduction also applies to separator sheets, even in instances where they are identified as "Found on Standalone Separator sheet" within the separation method parameters.

The sole deviation from this protocol occurs when a blank page is eliminated during the scanning process through the 'Blank Page Deletion Threshold' setting; such an action does not result in a decrement of the count.

It is important to note that within the scanning module, the removal of an image or electronic document will not result in the corresponding reinstatement of the count.

Conversely, should a newly created batch be deleted, the count will be reinstated by the quantity of images contained within the batch, provided that the scanning module remains active at the time of deletion. To clarify, if a batch is removed subsequent to scanning but prior to the initial closure of the batch, the count will revert to its former quantity.
