Cause

Default settings convert PDFs to TIFF images at 200dpi. Adjusting the dpi settings is necessary to achieve 300dpi rendering during the import and conversion process.

Answer/Solution

Steps to set up PDF import for 300dpi TIFF output:

1. Terminate all Kofax VRS / ImageControls-related applications and services.

2. Access the directory C:\ProgramData\Kofax\Vrs.

3. If it's not present, establish a new text document named ModConfig.ini.

4. Launch ModConfig.ini using a text editing program, such as Notepad.

5. Incorporate these lines into the file unless they are already included:
   [KDLWrapper]
MINRENDERINGDPI=300
MAXRENDERINGDPI=300

6. Commit your changes by saving the ModConfig.ini file.

Note for Kofax Express Users:

The outlined process is also applicable to Kofax Express. Implement identical steps but modify the directory path to C:\ProgramData\Kofax\KofaxExpress instead of C:\ProgramData\Kofax\VRS.
