How To Create Bookmark that Retains Entity ID

This article will show you how to create a browser bookmark and a desktop shortcut that will retain the desired entity number even when the entity field is not available to the user at login.

To create the bookmark and shortcut:

  1. Open Internet Explorer.

  2. Browse to your PaperVision Enterprise URL or the ImageSilo URL https://login.imagesilo.com/. The URL address will transition and end with "PVE.aspx."

  3. Append "?entid=<entity number>" to the end of the URL address (e.g., https://login.imagesilo.com/PVE.aspx?entid=9999).

  4. From the Internet Explorer Favorites menu or button, select Add to Favorites.

  5. If the Add a Favorite dialog box appears, you can change the bookmark name (if desired), and then click the Add button.

  6. To create a desktop shortcut, right-click your bookmark in the list of Favorites, and then select Send To > Desktop (create shortcut).

Note: If using a different browser the instructions regarding the Favorites may be slightly different, but overall will be very similar.

You may also create the shortcut directly from the desktop, instead of from the browser by using the following steps:

  1. Right-click on your desktop and go to New → Shortcut

         2. Paste the URL from your browser into the Location section of the Create Shortcut window.

       3. Proceed through the prompts to complete creating the shortcut. Test by double-clicking the shortcut on your desktop to ensure that it leads to the correct location.
