Setting Up Easyfile Email

Inside the Easyfile interface, you can email documents inside and outside your organization. You can also send an email link to a document.

There are some steps to setup this feature which are outlined below.

 

Scanpoint Service

The Scanpoint Service is used to configure the Email service in Easyfile.

Installing the Scanpoint service, will start the service and install the Scanpoint Service interface.

Start the interface from the Scanpoint folder on the Windows Start Menu

Click on Settings--Service and choose Email Notifications.

The Email Notification tab is created to setup the ability to send email from Easyfile.

General Settings

Set the interval for the service to check for email.

Under Profiles, click the Add button.

In the URI enter the address to the Easyfile Scanpoint Web Service which is typically represented as:

http(s)://Site Name/spws/scanpointwebservice.asmx

Enter the Profile Key which is typically Easyfile. If you have specially changed the default Profile Key, please enter that name in the textbox.

Click Test Connection. Once it has reported success, the dialog box will close.

Email Settings

Click the View/Edit Email Settings.

Here you will enter your:
SMTP server address

SMTP Port

SMTP User

SMTP Password

The Default Sender’s Email-Typically the SMTP username.

A Default Subject

The Enable SSL/TLS check box is turned on by default.

You can test the process by entering a Default Recipient Email address and clicking Test Send.

Once the Test is successful, remove the Recipient Name so it is not added for every email you send from Easyfile.

Click Save.

 

Notifications of Database connection failures can be established to send to the Easyfile user designated as the Super Admin. Click the checkbox and add the same information as entered in the Email Settings section.

Click Apply when finished.

 

Click OK when finished.

Easyfile web.config file

The last step in this process is to update the web.config file in the Easyfile site folder.

Navigate to the Easyfile web folder and open the web.config file.

Find the Email Setup section and enter the same SMTP information entered in the Scanpoint Service interface.

 

Email is now ready to be sent from Easyfile.
