Easyfile AD Sync

Overview

Easyfile AD Sync is a method to access the Easyfile system using the credentials found in Active Directory.  By connecting Easyfile with Active Directory, users can access the Easyfile system creating a Single Sign In environment.

Purpose

This guide describes how to set up and configure the EasyFile AD Sync System. The tasks described in this manual are the responsibility of the EasyFile System Administrator. This guide is not intended for end-users of the system. Many of the tasks outlined here assume a basic technical knowledge of the Windows operating system, networking principles and database concepts.

The process includes:

Creating 1 or more AD Groups of Easyfile users based on their cabinet access and cabinet rights.

Creating and configuring Groups in Easyfile linking to the AD Group(s) created.

Turning on the AD Sync service in the Scanpoint Service program.

Configuring AD Sync for Easyfile Web and LDAP settings

Import the users into Easyfile

Assign the users to their respective groups.

Creating and Configuring Easyfile Group(s) for AD Sync

Log into the Easyfile Administrator site and click the Groups button.

Click Add Group and give it the same name as the AD Group created. Save the change.

On the line for the group created, click the pencil button on right side. This will bring up the Modify Group screen.

Click Enable AD Sync and enter the name of the group to sync. Click update when finished.

Back on the Groups screen, click on the group just created. Assign cabinets and rights to the group. Once the AD users have been added to Easyfile, you can assign them to the group.

Test the connection to ensure it is correct.

Under the LDAP settings, click the Add button

On the LDAP page, enter NT as the Setting Name

Enter the LDAP Server Name, Admin User and Password.
