ApplicationXtender - Desktop - PDF Import Error

Summary

In ApplicationXtender Desktop, the following error occurs when attempting to import PDFs "There is a problem with Adobe Acrobat/Reader. If it is running, please exit and try again. (103:103)".

Resolution

This is a third-party issue and cannot be resolved by OpenText. As recommended by Adobe, disable the setting "Enable Protected Mode at startup". For further assistance, contact Adobe. See the following steps for more detail:

Launch Adobe Acrobat/Reader.

  1. Open the Edit menu: 'Edit' > 'Preferences'.

  2. Select 'General' on the left.

  3. Uncheck the option for "Enable Protected Mode at startup" near the bottom of the dialogue box.
