How to enable Kofax VRS installation logging and locate additional installation logs that are created automatically.
Answer/Solution
To enable installation logging when installing Kofax VRS as a standalone or server installation, run the VRSInstall.bat file located in the same folder as the setup.exe file on the Kofax VRS installation media. VRSInstall.bat creates the VRSInstaller.log file in the \%TEMP% location.
Kofax VRS Installation Log created by VRSInstall.bat:
C:\Users\<userID>\AppData\Local\Temp\VRSInstaller.log
When Kofax Capture installs VRS, the KfxVRSInst.log file is created in the \%TEMP% location.
Kofax VRS Installation Log created by the Kofax Capture Installer:
C:\Users\<userID>\AppData\Local\Temp\KfxVRSInst.log
Additional Kofax VRS Installation log files are automatically created in the \%TEMP% location regardless of how VRS installed.
Kofax VRS Installation Logs that are created automatically:
C:\Users\<userID>\AppData\Local\Temp\Kofax VRS_Script.log
C:\Users\<userID>\AppData\Local\Temp\VRS5Migration.log
