Summary

This guide will explain the steps to activate a Software and Hardware Kofax Capture license.

Information Needed to Activate a Software License

• You will need two things to activate a Kofax license.
• Software License Serial Number
• Software License Product Code
• Activation Code

How to Activate a Software License

Navigate to the following website https://knowledge.kofax.com/General_Support/Support_Details/Kofax_Product's_License_Management and choose the type of activation you would like to do.

• Kofax Product License Activation
• Enter your serial number and email address and click next.
• Select your version of Kofax Capture you're running, enter the Product Code, and enter your Machine ID (MAC Address) and click submit.
• Open Kofax License Utility on your Kofax Server.  Once the application is opened, click File > Activate and click Automatic.  The license is now activated.

• Temporary License Activation

           Note:  This option is used for Volume Increase, Date Rollback, Evaluation Date, and Moving a Software License.

• You will need the following information to request a temporary license:  Contact Name, Company Name, Serial Number, Version, and the Reason you need the temporary license.
• Once you entered all the information click Request and you will be provided with an activation code.
  • Copy the Activate Code
  • Open Kofax Capture License Utility.  Once the application is opened, click File > Activate. 
  • Enter the Serial Number and Product Code and then click Manual.
  • Paste the Activate Code from the Kofax website and click Activate.  The temporary license is now activated for five days.

How to Activate a Hardware License

• Move the hardware key dongle to the new Kofax environment.
• Open Kofax License Utility.  Once the application is opened, click File > Activate.
• Select Hardware key and then click Automatic.  The license is now activated.
