Kofax Batch Extraction Using BRU Utility
Extracting a Batch is used primarily to retrieve the pages that were scanned into the Batch Class from the Scan module. Pages that are deleted are included in the extraction. Follow the procedure below to extract a batch
Open KC Batch Removal and Export Utility located on KFX11
This application will have all Batches currently in Batch Manager in every queue
Check the Batch that you want to extract
Select the Options tab
Check the Backup Batch Images checkbox
Enter the directory where you want the extracted images sent to
The Backup Batch Databases checkbox will create an Access file in the same directory. This was used in the past but never had any practical use so it can be ignored.
The Create Batch XML Files in checkbox will create an XML file in the same directory
When you 'check' this option you'll have to enter the the directory again. 3 checkboxes will become available; only the 1st of these 3 should be selected
'Check' the final checkbox, Preserve Batches
This keeps the Batch in Batch Manager. If this option isn't selected the Batch will be removed from Batch Manager
Confirm on bottom-right that 1 of 'x' items selected
Click Process button located above Batches tab
The application has a bug that will rarely select multiple batches instead of the 1 you select. Keep an eye on the bottom right of the window to see '1 of x items selected'. If it says 'x of x items selected' stop the process and retry.
Once complete, you'll see Operation Completed on the bottom-left
In the directory you pasted will have a number of files/folders based on the options you selected
FolderName
FolderName.OCR
FolderName.PDF
Access File
XML File
The FolderName folder will contain all the pages initial from the Batch at Scan, including at pages that were deleted after/during Scan
