In Kofax Capture 9.0, 10.x, and 11.x, Patch Code separation of color or gray scale images is not performed in the Scan Module if "Found on Standalone Separator Sheet" is enabled in the batch class Custom Separation and Form Identification Profiles.

Answer/Solution

In Kofax Capture 9.0, 10.x, and 11.x, when "Found on stand-alone separator sheet" is enabled in the Custom Separation and Form Identification Profiles for patch code separation and when using Kofax Separator Sheets, the default behavior is for patch code separation of bitonal (black and white) images to occur at scan-time in the Scan Module, while patch code separation of color and gray scale images occurs in the Recognition Module.

When "Found on stand-alone separator sheet" is disabled, the default behavior is for patch code separation of bitonal, grayscale, and color images to occur at scan-time in the Scan Module.

To Force Patch Code Separation of all Images:

To force patch code separation of all images (bitonal, grayscale, and color) to occur at scan-time in the Scan Module when "Found on stand-alone separator sheets" is enabled:

1. Close the Scan Module.

2. In the Registry Editor, navigate to the following registry key:

   1. HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Wow6432Node\Kofax Image Products\Ascent Capture\3.0

3. Create a new DWORD with the name: TossSeparatorSheet

4. Set the value of TossSeparatorSheet to 1

5. Restart the Scan Module.
