When attempting to open Paperflow, you may occasionally receive the following error:

What This Means

Only one instance of PaperFlow can be open on a station at any time. Specifically, if multiple users are on a station at the same time, only one of them can open the program. Any other user who attempts to open the program will receive this error until the user who is on it closes out of the program entirely.

Be warned that this also includes users who do not close the program or properly sign out of the station. A recommended best practice is to encourage users to be sure to close all their work and sign out of a workstation or VM entirely when they are done using it or are taking a break to work on other tasks.

How to Resolve

There are two main ways to resolve this issue:

1 (preferred): If the user who has PaperFlow open is not currently using it and possibly already signed out, ask them to sign in and confirm that they are done using the program and close out of it entirely.

2: If the user is already gone for the day and you are 100% certain they are not running scheduled tasks (exports, post-processing, etc), you may open Task Manager and look for the open PaperFlow process to end it:

The process will simply be named PaperFlow. You may also look in the Users tab to open up another user's active programs to confirm if they have it open. It is, however, always preferred to consult with the user first in case they are running scheduled tasks intended to run throughout the day or after hours. Regardless, if the process is ended, the user will now be able to open PaperFlow normally.
