After Papervision Capture has been installed and you are ready to begin creating jobs and start new batches, you will need to configure PVC so that batches will be transitioned to the steps that are defined in the job. This article will explain how to set up PVC so that batches will move through the steps and what you can check to monitor batches.
Open Papervision Capture Administration Console
With the admin console open, expand Global Administration and select system settings → Configure Automation Service Scheduling. The automation Service Scheduling window will appear and in this window is where you define what services will run and at what time intervals.
In the Automation Server drop-down, you will notice is has the server name followed by "_0". You can have multiple automation servers running on one server and each can have different services scheduled. You can also install automation servers on different servers and they too can be configured to run different services.
With all that being said, select the automation server you would like to configure from the drop-down list. Now select the "Add" button at the bottom and select the operation you would like to run. A good start would be the Process Batch operation. Once selected, choose the start time, schedule and repetition schedule and select OK when finished. The operation will then populate in the Automation Service Schedule. Continue until all operations required have been added and select Save when done.
Create a job/batch
If you haven't already, create a PVC job and create a batch to test and make sure everything is working.

Monitor the batch
With batch created and transitioning through the defined job steps, you can check the batch management to monitor the status and see how the batches are progressing.
To open the batch management, expand Entities, expand the desired entity listed, expand Capture Batches, and select Batch Management.
Note that this list is not refreshed in real-time. You must click the refresh button to receive updates.
In the Batch Management window, aside from monitoring the batches, you can also manually move batches to a different job step or change the status from Owned to Not Owned if troubleshooting is needed.
