PVC - Excluded Services

Excluded services is a setting within a Papervision Capture (PVC) job. It is used to exclude an automated server from processing a specified step within a job configuration.

An example use for this would be if there was only 1 Capture Scan license available for the environment being used with Native Documents to create batches, but there are several other automation servers waiting to process batches, Excluded Services config can be used to exclude all other Automation Servers so that only the licensed Automation Server processes the batch creation steps.

Steps to configure Excluded Services

  1. Open Papervision Capture Administration Console

  2. Navigate to Capture Jobs

  3. Open the job that needs Excluded Services configured

  4. Check out the job

  5. With the Job Definitions window opened, without any steps selected, click the ellipsis in the Excluded Services field

     

  6. Click the “+” symbol to add a new Excluded Services config

  7. Click the “->” arrow to add all steps that need the exclusions

  8. Click Add new service instance

  9. Enter the name of the Automation Server that should NOT be taking ownership of the selected steps from step 7

  10. Repeat steps 8-9 for any additional Automation Servers that may need to be excluded

  11. Click OK when finished

  12. Be sure to Check the job back in when finished to save changes
