PVC - Add additional Automation Servers

If you have several batches processing through PVC and need to speed up processing time, you can add additional Automation Servers to process several different batches simultaneously. Note that this does put more strain on the server, but if the server has the resources, then it is recommended to add the Automation Servers.

Use the following steps to add the additional Automation Servers:

  1. Log into the server that you need the additional Automation Servers added to

  2. Perform a Windows search for Papervision Capture Setup Tool

  3. Within the Papervision Capture Setup Tool, select the Automation Service tab

  4. Under ‘Service Settings’, configure how many Automation Servers you need

    1. If unsure, start with 2 or 3 and see if the server can handle with no noticeable slow-downs

  5. Click Save

  6. Now you will need to open the Papervision Capture Administration Console

  7. Log in as a Global Administrator

  8. Under Global Administration, select Automation Service Status to confirm all the newly added Automation Servers are showing

     

  9. The new Automation Servers must now be configured on what processes they are to work on before they will do anything

  10. To configure the Automation Servers, under Global Administration, navigate to System Settings → Configure Automation Service Scheduling

  11. Click the Automation Server drop-down and select one of the newly added servers

     

  12. You can now begin to add all the processes that need to be processed on that server

  13. Once finished, be sure to save
