Paperflow- Create Auto-Doc Break Zone
In this article we will discuss how to create an Auto-Doc Break Zone in PaperFlow. This can be used to automatically detect and break a document when scanning in a stack of image, either through a scanner or through the DSI Image Spewer Tool.
First you will navigate to the job and a batch that you can use to test with and something that is not in production and then click the “Pencil” icon to begin configuration.
You may be asked to save your index values at this time, depending on your job and index field configuration.
Next you will be brought to the “Index Configuration” menu. Once here you will want to click the dropdown for the OCR section and then click on the pencil icon next to “OCR Zones”.
Scroll to the bottom of the Manage Zones pane and look for the AutoDocBreak section.
Select the Auto Doc Break from the list and you are ready to go! For this method, we will need to already have our document loaded into PaperFlow.
Next, you will need to use the mouse then click and drag to create a box around the text you are trying to OCR, as shown below.
You will then click the fourth icon after the “X” which is the Add OCR Zone button.
You will see the “OCR Value” which is what the system determined the text to be, and then you will use the “Auto Document Break Zone” checkbox to tell the system to look for this value, on this location of the page, and if it is found to break the document here.
Then you will need to click Apply!
Note: The location you select must be the same on each page you are scanning. If you select a zone that is not always present the document breaks will be uneven and not as you wish. This is a great tool to use if you are scanning in lots of documents that are the same format, but have different index values!
