Full Text Searching

When Full Text Searching is turned on in a cabinet, there will be an extra search field available called Contains Words. This field is used to search the contents of the document rather than the indexing fields.

For example, we will enter test into the Contains Words field and click the search button. The search results return 5 records where the letters test are found at least once inside the document.

When we view the document, it opens to the first instance of the searched criteria and has it highlighted. In addition, all other instances of the searched criteria are highlighted.

On the right side of the screen is a panel listing the paragraphs of all the instances of the searched criteria so we can scroll the panel and click on any of the entries to jump to that portion of the document.

At the top of the panel is the ability to change the search criteria and match the Case Sensitivity of the instance(s) in the document.

Because, you are looking for instances when the letters t-e-s-t appear in the document entries such as test or tested or testament will appear. If you only want the whole word to be found, click the Whole Word Checkbox.

If you make a change to the search parameters, click the Blue Search button again.
