Viewing Documents
The document viewer in Easyfile Web is a full featured viewer which allows the user to perform many tasks in a fast efficient manner.
From the main screen choose the cabinet to search and enter your search criteria
The next screen is the search results from which you will be able to view documents.
The orange color indicates 1 document is assigned to the indexing information while the green color indicates multiple documents.
Viewing Documents
Not all documents can be viewed directly in the browser.
PDF files can be viewed and edited inside Easyfile Web. Other file types like Excel XLSX and Word DOCX files can be downloaded into their native programs, edited and then resaved to Easyfile. This is covered in the Office Plug-In Documentation. Older file types like xls and doc need to be downloaded before they can be viewed, edited and resaved into Easyfile.
Single Documents
When you click on a single document to view, a new tab in the browser is opened and the document is shown. along with a number of interface and editing controls.
Details button
The control on the far left is the Details button. This will show the document’s indexing information. In addition, when you click on the Document Details tab, the folder location, file size and date added among others are shown.
Panel control
This control shows the pages of a document in a panel that allows easy scrolling through the document to access pages to view.
View Controls
This control allows the user to control how the document is viewed. There are features like page rotation and transition. Also, this control will change the view from a single page per screen to double page per screen.
Display Ratio
Another feature is the ability to reduce or increase the size of the display. This comes in handy if you need to search a large document for a particular portion of the document. By changing the ratio to 50%, you can get up to 4 pages per screen.
If you bring your mouse cursor up to the browser tab the document is in, you will see the document information. This helps if you have multiple browser tabs open with documents in them.
Multiple Documents
Before you view a document in a multi-document record, you have to choose which document you want to view. This is accomplished with the Record Details dialog.
The Record Details list each document that has been saved in the record along with its Document Type, Number of Pages and any comment .
The checkbox on the left side of the screen shows the Copy to New Cabinet and Move to New Cabinet buttons. Each of these procedures will take the document and either copy or move it to a new cabinet. Clicking either button brings up the Copy/Move Document dialog. Pick the cabinet and enter the appropriate indexing information.
The microscope is the view button. Click it and the screen we spoke about before comes up where you can view and edit the document.
