ECMT - ApplicationXtender Server Refused to Connect (X-Frame Origins)
In this article we will review a common error when first setting up ECMT, or something that may happen after an ApplicationXtender upgrade or change.
When opening a workitem you may encounter a message saying:
“AXServer refused to connect”
And no image is displayed inside of your ECMT workitem but the indexes and everything else load correctly.
You may also see a message in the developer console of the browser similar to the below:
“Refused to display in a frame because it set 'X-Frame-Options' to 'sameorigin'.”
If this occurs, you will need to make a change to the Web.config file for you AppXtender site. This can be found at the root of your AppXtender site folder here:
C:\inetpub\wwwroot\AppXtender
Locate the “Web.config” file and edit this file with Notepad.
Use the CTRL+F find feature and search for “X-Frame” which should bring you to the line we need under HTTP Protocols.
Please comment out the line as shown below:
Once you comment this line out, please save the Web.config file and close out of your browser, re-open ECMT, then attempt to open a workitem again.
The message should have gone away and the document should display from AX properly.
